Software Engineer II (Java/Spring Boot)
Location: Buffalo, NY (Hybrid: 4 days onsite)
Duration: Long-term Contract (18+ Months)
We are seeking a Software Engineer II with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot to support a large-scale platform modernization and cloud migration initiative. The role focuses on building enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, and data transformation services within a high-volume transaction processing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance Java/Spring Boot microservices and applications.
• Build and maintain APIs, integrations, and data transformation solutions.
• Analyze application workflows, interfaces, and system integrations.
• Collaborate with architecture and platform teams on modernization projects.
• Participate in Agile development and deliver high-quality code.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with REST APIs, system integrations, and distributed applications.
• Strong understanding of data flows, message processing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced enterprise environments.

Preferred Skills:

• Banking, payments, or financial services experience.
• Knowledge of SWIFT, Fedwire, CHIPS, or wire payment systems.
• Exposure to Azure cloud environments.
• Experience with modernization or migration projects.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and agentic AI concepts.
