Job Title: Mainframe DBA Manager / Lead – DB2 for z/OS
Location: Remote – US
Experience: 12–20+ years Mainframe; 8–16+ years DB2 for z/OS

Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Mainframe DBA Lead to provide technical leadership for enterprise DB2 for z/OS environments. The candidate will be responsible for database administration, performance tuning, architecture, upgrades, migrations, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, security, and production incident management.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with DB2 for z/OS Database Administration

  • DB2 subsystems, Data Sharing, Parallel Sysplex, buffer pools, tablespaces, indexes, and DB2 Catalog

  • SQL performance tuning, access path analysis, and capacity planning

  • DB2 utilities: REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, LOAD, UNLOAD, RECOVER, and REBUILD INDEX

  • Backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and RTO/RPO planning

  • DB2 upgrades, migrations, SMP/E, and PTF implementation

  • Mainframe tools: z/OS, JCL, SDSF, TSO/ISPF, and JES2

  • Database security, RACF, encryption, and audit/compliance controls

  • L3/L4 production support, root cause analysis, and major incident resolution

  • Technical leadership, team mentoring, and change governance (CAB)

Preferred Skills: BMC DB2 tools, REXX scripting, DB2 automation, and experience with IMS, CICS, and MQ.
