The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a high performing engineering team based in Sydney. This is a hands on development role suited to a strong backend engineer with extensive experience building enterprise applications, REST APIs, and microservices based solutions using modern Java technologies. You will work closely with architects, developers, analysts, and stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain scalable applications while contributing to best practices across software engineering, application design, and solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise grade applications using Java technologies.
• Build and support RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Develop scalable microservices based solutions aligned with modern architecture principles.
• Collaborate with architects and development teams to design maintainable applications.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Develop and maintain application components using Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and development best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Work closely with cross functional teams to deliver high quality software solutions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to engineering standards.

What You'll Need

• Minimum 5 years of experience developing enterprise applications using Java.
• Strong Core Java development skills.
• Hands on experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Strong experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of microservices based architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of object oriented programming principles (OOP).
• Experience designing and managing entity relationships and application data models.
• Hands on experience with Maven build and dependency management.
• Good understanding of Java design patterns and software engineering best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
