Job description

We’ve been around since 1988, and today we’re one of Australia’s largest profit‑to‑member super funds.

That means everything we do is focused on delivering better outcomes for our members – not shareholders.

Closing date: 13th November 2026

Please note Rest does not accept speculative resumes from recruitment agencies

Rest will review applications prior to the closing date and may close the role earlier

At Rest, we help more than 2 million Australians to build a better financial future. With around $112 billion in funds under management, we focus on delivering strong long-term outcomes for our members — from their first job through to retirement*. Your best at Rest means focusing on what matters, being trusted to get on with it, and knowing your work genuinely makes a difference. That’s how we operate every day, guided by our values: Be Daring, Keep It Simple, Take Action and Have Grit.

Join us as a Manager, Governance, where you’ll manage the effective operation of P&C governance by coordinating governance processes, maintaining key registers and records, monitoring actions and obligations, and supporting Committee and governance reporting. Work closely with the GM, People Solutions and P&C subject matter experts to respond flexibly to emerging priorities, manage associated projects and ensure governance activities are well organised, accurately documented, reflected in people systems and progressed in a timely way.

This is your opportunity to make a real contribution to the financial wellbeing of millions of Australians.

  • Manage the People, Culture & Remuneration Committee calendar, paper governance, decision record and action log for the GM.
  • Maintain governance records supporting remuneration and risk processes, including Joint Committee and Consequence Management documentation and evidence, working with Reward and other accountable SMEs.
  • Work with the GM, Reward team and Office of the FAR to ensure FAR and APRA CPS 511 governance requirements are met, maintaining records, evidence and action tracking to support remuneration policy compliance and Committee decisions.
  • Maintain the P&C policy and procedure register, coordinating review cycles, version control, accountable-owner updates and attestations, and escalating overdue or incomplete actions.
  • Maintain the obligations register covering the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, modern awards and any enterprise agreement, conduct compliance reviews and track remediation with accountable owners. Monitor and assess regulatory changes affecting people, pay and P&C, translating them into impact assessments, named ownership and implementation plans before commencement.
  • Maintain the P&C supplier register and contract governance, including the consolidated view of providers and spend, supplier risk assessments, performance reviews, renewals, budget management and material service provider obligations.
  • Support P&C governance and control reporting, collating evidence and monitoring agreed actions, issues and remediation with accountable SMEs.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in law, governance, risk, compliance, human resources, business or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in Board and Committee governance and remuneration governance (FAR, CPS 511, listed environment).
  • Relevant experience in governance, risk, compliance, HR or business administration, ideally within financial services or another regulated environment.
  • Experience coordinating governance processes, maintaining registers, documentation, actions and evidence, and supporting Committee or senior management reporting.
  • Working understanding of relevant P&C regulatory and workplace relations requirements, with the ability to work effectively with Legal, Risk and subject matter experts.
  • Strong organisational and analytical capability, with high attention to detail and disciplined record keeping across multiple priorities and deadlines.
