Job Description

Alexander Steele Recruitment are working with an established business based in Fife with a strong reputation for quality and heritage , who are seeking an experienced, people-focused Head of People to join their Senior Leadership Team.


This is a hands-on leadership role, combining day-to-day HR leadership with responsibility for shaping and delivering the wider people agenda. As a full member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will share accountability for the overall direction, and performance of the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Play an active role as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to company strategy, key decisions and delivery of the long-term vision
  • Develop and deliver a clear people strategy covering organisational design, culture, engagement, talent, succession and leadership capability
  • Coach managers and supervisors to strengthen leadership, accountability and performance
  • Lead and continuously improve performance management, development reviews, succession planning and management development
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding and retention, ensuring the business attracts and develops people who share its values
  • Lead on employee relations, absence, disciplinary, grievance and organisational change matters, managing cases directly while coaching and developing a direct report
  • Ensure people policies, processes, HR systems and records are practical, effective, compliant and fit for the future
  • Shape learning and development across the business, including onboarding and leadership development


On Offer

  • £75,000 - £90,000 p.a - can be flexible depending on experience.
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Full member of the Senior Leadership Team
  • 29 days holiday per year
