Candidates will support EST / EU stakeholders. Ideal candidate will be EST/MST.

$65.00 an hour w2.

Milestone Technologies is seeking an experienced consultant to support post-audit remediation for Responsible AI and agentic AI governance during an initial three-month engagement. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role for someone who can rapidly translate audit observations into practical, sustainable governance improvements.
The consultant will draft documentation and governance artifacts, help design implementable workflows and controls, and support action owners in meeting compressed remediation timelines. The role will work closely with Responsible AI, the AI & Data Science team, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Review audit observations, supporting evidence, and root-cause analysis to help define practical, proportionate corrective actions.
  • Draft and revise SOPs, procedures, process maps, governance guidance, decision frameworks, control descriptions, and Confluence-based knowledge materials.
  • Design or improve governance workflows, including intake, risk assessment, approvals, lifecycle management, reassessment, escalation, documentation, and evidence-retention processes.
  • Support remediation related to AI system inventory, AI Workbench and platform intake, appropriate data sourcing and use, governance assessments, governance documentation, and control implementation.
  • Create clear remediation deliverables, including proposed action plans, milestones, ownership models, implementation requirements, and closure evidence packages.
  • Facilitate working sessions with subject-matter experts to translate existing practices and requirements into usable documentation and operational controls.
  • Identify documentation, process, and control gaps; recommend pragmatic improvements that can be implemented and sustained by operational teams.
  • Maintain an organized record of remediation artifacts, decisions, evidence, dependencies, and outstanding items to support action closure and subsequent validation.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience supporting audit remediation, governance implementation, risk management, compliance, control design, or operational transformation in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently produce high-quality first drafts of SOPs, procedures, playbooks, process maps, governance models, and operational guidance.
  • Experience converting ambiguous requirements, audit observations, or policy expectations into clear workflows, roles, controls, and evidence requirements.
  • Familiarity with technology, data, AI, privacy, security, risk, or compliance governance environments.
  • Strong written communication skills and sound judgment; able to make complex requirements clear and usable for operational teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple fast-moving deliverables, work with incomplete information, and drive specific outputs to completion.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills, including with technical platform teams and non-technical governance stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting AI governance, Responsible AI, AI lifecycle governance, or AI platform controls.
  • Familiarity with AI system intake, inventory, risk classification, data governance, system-development lifecycle controls, or AI monitoring.
  • Experience responding to internal audit findings, including drafting corrective-action plans and preparing implementation evidence for closure or validation.
  • Experience in a regulated industry or other environment with formal policies, controlled documentation, and evidence-based controls.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Confluence, or similar workflow, inventory, and knowledge-management tools.
  • Prior consulting or contract-based experience.

What Success Looks Like
Within the engagement, the consultant will help convert audit observations into clear, credible, and implementable remediation actions; produce high-quality governance documentation and workflow designs; and leave behind evidence-based artifacts that support timely closure and sustained operation of the Responsible AI governance program.
