The Role

• Operate specialized heavy equipment, including hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders, for the efficient movement of shipping containers.
• Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks, ensuring accurate and safe handling.
• Drive hostlers to position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate daily logistics tasks.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to established safety protocols and procedures.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver's license is mandatory for this position.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs and climbing ladders/stairs.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as determined by seniority.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
