Job Description

About Scrumconnect Consulting
Scrumconnect Consulting is a multi-award-winning digital consultancy, recognised for delivering impactful technology solutions across UK government departments. Our work has positively influenced the lives of over 40 million UK citizens. With a strong commitment to user-centred design and agile delivery, we build innovative digital services that matter.

Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Delivery Lead to take end-to-end ownership of a flagship AI-enabled product, from inception through to business-as-usual rollout. This is a genuinely formative role - you'll be shaping how the programme develops as it goes, not delivering against an already-fixed blueprint, so we need someone who is adaptive, pragmatic, and comfortable with ambiguity.

This is not an "ivory tower" role. We're looking for someone who will lead ethically, with real passion for building a good product, and who is hands-on enough to understand the practical implications of decisions on the colleagues and teams around them.

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne - Hybrid working
Contract type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: Up to £65,000, plus benefits
Start date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end delivery of a flagship product, from inception through to BAU rollout
  • Integration of the service, both technically and operationally, including delivery of service and support wrappers
  • Ownership of communications and stakeholder management across a multidisciplinary programme
  • Proactive, structured progress reporting - stakeholders should never need to ask "where are we?"

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of government governance, standards, and approval processes within a public sector delivery context
  • Experience using the AI Playbook, Green/Teal Books, or similar government guidance frameworks
  • Experience supporting and leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Understanding of AI ethics and the associated legal implications
  • Confident use of Programme, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies, with clear tracking and reporting discipline
  • Understanding of security implications relevant to product and service delivery
  • Strong User Experience/User Research-led experience, combined with a pragmatic, "get it done" approach
  • Proven Project, Programme, or Product go-live experience at scale

Desirable

  • Experience working at, with, or for a central government department
  • Experience with document processing, management, and routing at scale
  • Experience deploying AI products into live service
  • Deeper understanding of AI ethics and legal/regulatory implications

Particular Challenges & Priorities
This programme is building something new, and the successful candidate will be actively shaping how it develops as part of the wider team - not simply executing against a pre-defined plan. We need someone who is sympathetic to the implications this creates for colleagues, genuinely adaptive in how they work, and willing to lead from the front with real ownership and passion for the product.

Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
At Scrumconnect Consulting, we believe that diversity drives innovation. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone is respected, valued, and supported. We actively encourage applications from women, people with disabilities, individuals from under-represented communities, and those seeking flexible working arrangements.

As a Disability Confident Level 1 employer, we provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process and employment to ensure equal opportunity for all.
