Job Description

Senior Test Engineer Senior Level | Active Secret Clearance Required | $100,000 - $132,000 | Location: Huntsville, AL | Onsite Support system-level integration and test activities for mission-critical defense systems as a Test Engineer within the GSS team. This role will focus on developing and executing comprehensive test strategies, translating system requirements into actionable testing criteria, and integrating hardware and software capabilities to verify system performance. The successful candidate will bring strong C++ and Python capabilities along with hands-on experience using automated testing and development tools in a collaborative engineering environment. A Day in the Life - What youll do

  • Design, develop, and execute system-level test plans, integration plans, and test procedures supporting complex defense systems.
  • Review system requirements, technical documentation, and test guidance to determine appropriate verification methods and integration approaches.
  • Translate system requirements into measurable testing criteria and develop procedures that demonstrate successful requirement satisfaction.
  • Execute system-level integration testing across complex hardware and software configurations.
  • Develop and maintain test automation and supporting software using Python and C++.
  • Utilize Eggplant and other automated testing tools to improve test repeatability, coverage, and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot test failures, analyze results, and work with engineering teams to identify and resolve system-level issues.
  • Document test procedures, test results, deficiencies, and verification evidence to support system integration and program milestones.
  • Use GitLab or Bitbucket to manage test software, scripts, configuration items, and development artifacts.
  • Work with Elasticsearch to support test data collection, analysis, monitoring, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, integration teams, and other technical stakeholders throughout the test lifecycle.
  • Participate in technical reviews and test readiness activities to ensure systems are properly configured and prepared for integration events.
  • Apply domain knowledge to understand system behavior, identify potential integration issues, and develop effective test solutions.
  • Use Agile development and engineering tools to track test activities, defects, requirements, and technical work.
  • Support continuous improvement of system integration and test processes, automation frameworks, and engineering workflows. Required Qualifications
  • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and executing test plans, integration plans, and test procedures for system-level integration testing.
  • Ability to understand and interpret system requirements and test guidance to support successful system-level integration testing.
  • Experience developing testing criteria and verification procedures to successfully satisfy system requirements.
  • Experience with C++ development.
  • Strong programming and scripting experience using Python.
  • Hands-on experience with Eggplant automated testing tools.
  • Experience with GitLab or Bitbucket for source code and configuration management.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch.
  • Demonstrated experience within the applicable technical/mission domain.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify, isolate, and resolve complex integration and test issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary engineering and development teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Jira for Agile task and defect management.
  • Experience with Confluence for technical documentation and team collaboration.
  • Experience with DOORS or other requirements management tools.
  • Experience with Jenkins and automated CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience with Bitbucket for source control and development collaboration.
  • Experience integrating automated testing into software development and DevSecOps pipelines.
