Job Description

The Sr. Test Automation Engineer is a senior-level quality engineering role responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and quality of store technology solutions. This role partners with engineering, product, and business teams to identify business risks, contribute to user story definition, define and review test strategies, and build scalable automation solutions. The engineer will bring a strong QA mindset, creativity, and an ability to think outside the box while working on technology at the heart of store operations.

Key Responsibilities

·  Able to identify business risks and contribute to user story definition.

·  Define, develop, and review test cases, test plans, and overall test strategy.

·  Design and build automation frameworks from scratch and continuously improve automated test coverage.

·  Perform practical web testing and contribute to quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

·  Use appropriate test tools and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Karate, and JMeter.

·  Apply TDD, BDD, and Gherkin practices to improve testability and shared understanding of requirements.

·  Integrate automated testing into pipelines and CI/CD processes, including Jenkins.

·  Collaborate actively with engineering and non-engineering colleagues in a SCRUM environment.

·  Bring creativity and out-of-the-box thinking to quality challenges for store technology.

·  Maintain a strong QA mindset: build solutions together, challenge them through testing, and continuously improve quality.

Years of Experience

·  Minimum 6 years of experience in QA automation.

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)  

·  Minimum 6 years of experience in QA automation, including experience writing automation frameworks from scratch.

·  In-depth knowledge of one or more programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, or C#.

·  Minimum 1 year of experience with MongoDB, Node.js, and AWS services including Lambda, Step Functions, and CloudWatch.

Hands-on experience with one or more test tools and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Karate, or JMeter.

Experience defining and reviewing test cases and test plans, with the ability to identify business risks and contribute to user story definition.

·  Knowledge or experience with pipelines, Jenkins, and CI/CD processes.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications (Desired but Not Required)

·  Practical experience with web testing or web development.

·  Experience with TDD, BDD, and Gherkin.

·  Experience working in SCRUM environments.

·  Experience with performance testing using tools such as JMeter.

Education & Certification Requirements

·  Degree in Computer Science or a similar area of study.

Preferred Industry Experience

·  Experience with convenience retail, store technology, point-of-sale, or other high-availability retail systems is preferred.
