Start Date: January 2027

Role Overview

This is a senior role, responsible for delivering complex operational projects and providing strategic oversight of a broader project portfolio. The successful candidate will bring substantial experience from a business process outsourcing (BPO) environment or demonstrate highly relevant transferable skills gained within another fast-paced, customer-focused operation.

Working closely with stakeholders at every level, you will translate complex project and portfolio information into clear, concise reporting and recommendations for C-suite audiences. You will shape and drive the strategy of the project team, strengthen its capability and demonstrate the value it delivers to the wider business.

You will guide Project Managers through the full employee lifecycle, empowering them to take ownership, develop professionally and deliver consistently high standards. You will have at least five years’ experience operating at senior project management level, with a strong record of operational project delivery and portfolio governance. Current PRINCE2 accreditation is essential.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead high-performing project teams, clarify accountabilities, develop robust delivery plans and secure the resources required for success.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and provide accurate, timely reporting on delivery, costs, milestones, resources, dependencies and benefits.
  • Ensure all projects comply with internal governance and external quality, regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Proactively identify and remove delivery barriers, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget and aligned with agreed outcomes.
  • Lead multiple complex and interdependent projects, balancing priorities and managing cross-project risks and dependencies.
  • Provide authoritative direction and sound decision-making, while coaching, mentoring and developing Project Managers and wider project teams.
  • Develop and embed effective project policies, processes and standards that support the team’s strategic and operational priorities.
  • Provide senior portfolio governance and assurance across the full suite of projects, maintaining delivery standards and producing clear reporting for internal, external and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Build trusted client and stakeholder relationships, creating alignment and enabling the successful delivery and adoption of change.
  • Apply PRINCE2 principles consistently across planning, governance, controls, reporting and delivery assurance.
  • Own robust risk, issue and dependency management, ensuring timely escalation, effective mitigation and transparent reporting.

What are we looking for?

  • A collaborative and dependable team player who builds strong relationships and contributes positively across functions.
  • Excellent written, verbal and reporting skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with a solution-focused approach that presents practical options and recommendations rather than problems alone.
  • Proven experience delivering complex operational and business change projects, rather than being focused solely on IT delivery.
  • Substantial experience within a business process outsourcing (BPO) environment or a closely related operational setting.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing BPO TUPE projects and associated operational change.
  • Current PRINCE2 Practitioner accreditation, with the ability to apply the methodology proportionately and effectively.
  • Proven team management experience, including coaching, performance management and supporting colleagues through the full employee lifecycle.
