Job Description

As an Installation Technician at Amazon Web Services, Inc., you will deploy and configure on-site infrastructure that powers AWS and its customers. You'll install racks, servers, networking gear, and structured cabling, then validate connectivity and performance using AWS standards and runbooks. Working in fast-paced data center and customer environments, you'll collaborate with engineers and project managers, document work in internal tools, and follow strict safety and security procedures. This role offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge cloud infrastructure and clear pathways for technical growth in a high-ownership culture.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and test AWS-related hardware and network components at customer and AWS sites
  • Perform structured cabling, rack/stack, and equipment labeling to AWS standards
  • Verify connectivity, run diagnostics, and remediate installation issues
  • Follow detailed implementation runbooks and document completed work in internal tools
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to support large-scale rollouts
  • Adhere to security, safety, and data center access procedures
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting and basic break/fix support
  • Maintain accurate inventory of installation materials and equipment
  • Communicate status, risks, and blockers clearly to remote teams
  • Continuously improve processes by providing feedback on field installations

Required Skills

  • Structured cabling (fiber and copper)
  • Rack/stack of servers and network gear
