Job Description

Role: BLT Engineer Test Engineering — Manufacturing
Rate: $150,000
Level:  E3 / E4
Location:  Taylor, TX / Georgetown, TX (Onsite)
Employment Type:  Full-Time
Reports To:  Test Engineering Manager
We are seeking an experienced Board Level Test (BLT) Engineer to develop, validate, and optimize board-level functional test solutions supporting next-generation AI server platforms.

POSITION SUMMARY
The BLT Engineer owns the development, validation, release, and sustaining of Board Level Functional Test (BLT) solutions for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) supporting AI server manufacturing — including functional test strategy, test software development, fixture integration, production release, and continuous yield improvement.

Working closely with Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams, this role ensures robust functional validation, manufacturing readiness, and scalable production test solutions. E3 engineers independently own BLT development and execution for assigned programs. E4 engineers additionally own board-level test strategy across multiple programs, set technical direction for the BLT function, and serve as the senior technical escalation point.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Board Level Functional Test Development
Define board-level functional test strategy and architecture for new AI server programs. Develop, validate, and release Board Level Functional Test (BLT) programs. Develop automated functional test sequences and pass/fail criteria. Design, integrate, and validate functional test stations and fixtures. Optimize test coverage and cycle time. Support production test release and engineering documentation. Test Software Development
Develop automated test applications using NI TestStand and LabVIEW.

Develop software modules using Python and C/C++ where applicable. Integrate instrumentation, DAQ, and communication interfaces. Debug and validate test software throughout NPI and production. Hardware Validation
Validate board functionality including power sequencing, DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, NVMe, BIOS, BMC, and firmware. Support board bring-up and engineering validation. Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and software related failures. Liquid Cooling (LC) Validation
Validate coolant distribution unit (CDU), cold plate, and manifold/QD integration on board-level test stations.

Support leak detection and coolant pressure/flow validation during functional test. Coordinate pre- and post-cold-plate test sequencing with Mechanical/Thermal Engineering. Troubleshoot thermal and liquid-cooling-related failures during board bring-up and functional validation. Production & NPI Support
Support EVT, DVT, PVT, pilot builds, and production ramp. Support ECO implementation and product revisions. Provide technical support to manufacturing during production. Failure Analysis & Continuous Improvement
Perform Root Cause Analysis using 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone methodologies.

Drive First Pass Yield (FPY), yield, and cycle time improvements. Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous improvement initiatives. Technical Leadership & Mentorship
Serve as the senior technical escalation point for board-level test issues across engineering and manufacturing. Lead cross-functional design reviews with Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering, and NPI teams to influence testability and architecture decisions. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior test engineers (E1/E2).

Drive standardization of BLT methodology, tools, and best practices across programs (E4).
