RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client in New York, NY that is seeking a Threat Analyst with strong regional expertise in Russia and Eastern Europe to support research and analysis of cyber-enabled influence operations, emerging geopolitical threats, and information warfare activities.

Summary

This role is ideal for candidates passionate about geopolitical intelligence, open-source intelligence (OSINT), foreign policy research, and tracking evolving threat landscapes. The successful candidate will conduct in-depth research, produce intelligence reports, and brief stakeholders on influence operations, information threats, and regional developments impacting the global security environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and assess cyber-enabled influence operations and emerging threats across Russia, Eastern Europe, and neighboring regions at both tactical and strategic levels
  • Analyze influence actors, networks, and campaigns using open-source intelligence (OSINT), social media analysis, geopolitical developments, and other publicly available information sources
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities of state and non-state threat actors, including emerging AI-enabled influence techniques and information operations
  • Produce timely intelligence products, including threat assessments, executive summaries, strategic reports, and in-depth analytical research
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate technical, geopolitical, and regional insights into intelligence assessments
  • Deliver written briefings and presentations to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and actionable manner

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Political Science, International Relations, Security Studies, Area Studies, Global Affairs, Eastern European Studies, Russian Studies, or a related field
  • 2+ years of professional, academic, research, intelligence, geopolitical, or policy analysis experience
  • Experience conducting open-source intelligence (OSINT) research and analysis
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills with the ability to communicate complex topics effectively
  • Experience producing concise, well-structured analytical reports and assessments
  • Strong knowledge of Russian, Eastern European, and regional political, security, and geopolitical dynamics
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following languages, listed in order of priority: Russian; Ukrainian; Estonian; Other Eastern European and/or West/Central Asian languages
  • Strong verbal communication skills and confidence presenting findings to diverse audiences
  • Exceptional written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality analytical reports
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret foreign-language sources
  • Strong research tenacity and the ability to uncover insights from diverse and complex information sources
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for understanding global events, geopolitical developments, and influence operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience researching cyber threat actors, influence operations, disinformation campaigns, or information warfare
  • Experience working with geopolitical, intelligence, security, or cyber-focused teams
  • Familiarity with social media analytics, foreign policy research, and digital investigations
  • Understanding of AI-enabled influence techniques and emerging online threat trends

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
