Job Description

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description:
  • Develop, enhance, and support software solutions for automated laboratory and industrial systems. Design and implement software that integrates instrumentation, machine vision, data acquisition, and enterprise data systems to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability of research and operational processes.
  •  Manager looking for: Software development, Industrial automation, Instrument integration, Imaging systems, and Laboratory systems. He is not looking for general software developers, junior automation engineers, or candidates lacking robotics/machine vision experience
 
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software for engineering and laboratory systems.
  • Develop applications using C#, MATLAB, Python, C++, or related technologies.
  • Integrate software with instrumentation, sensors, cameras, robotics, and motion control platforms.
  • Develop software interfaces between automation systems, databases, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
  • Support machine vision and image-processing software applications.
  • Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and technicians to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Troubleshoot software and system integration issues.
  • Develop technical documentation, software specifications, and user guides.
  • Follow software engineering best practices including version control, testing, cybersecurity, and code reviews.
 
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience developing software for automation, industrial, scientific, or engineering systems.
  • Strong programming skills in C#, MATLAB, Python, C++, or similar object-oriented languages.
  • Experience integrating software with hardware systems, instrumentation, sensors, machine vision, robotics, or industrial control platforms.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation architectures, control systems, and communication protocols.
  • Experience with source control, software testing, and modern software engineering practices.
  • Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
 
Skills:
  • Strong Programming
  • Machine to Machine/Machine Automation/Industrial Automation
 
Education:
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
 
Additional Qualifications:
  • Shift Hours: 8:00AM - 5:00 PM CST
