Senior Transportation Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer in Hollywood, FL responsible for coordinating and overseeing the planning and design of transportation infrastructure projects.

Summary

This role applies established civil engineering principles to roadway design and construction while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations. The engineer evaluates existing roadway conditions, recommends improvements to enhance traffic flow and safety, and supports project execution from design through construction. This position develops project cost estimates, supports construction and repair scheduling, and collaborates with internal engineering teams to assign priorities and coordinate workloads. The role may provide technical guidance and oversight to other transportation engineering staff and work cross-functionally to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Active State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in transportation engineering or related civil engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of transportation and civil engineering principles, standards, and best practices
• Experience with roadway design and infrastructure improvement projects
• Proficiency in MicroStation, GEOPAK, and/or stormwater management design tools preferred
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, water and sewer modeling software, and ESRI (GIS) applications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Valid Florida driver's license

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
