Essel Environmental provides On-Demand Emergency Response, Disaster Recovery Project Personnel throughout the United States.
Essel's FlexTeks are versatile technicians who get the job done. We respond to natural and man-made disasters to help communities recover.
We are looking for technicians with diverse backgrounds to add to our team!
The Field Hazmat Technician is responsible for the performance of tasks including- hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials.
Some examples of projects and duties include:
- Operate light and heavy equipment including: pumps, vacuum, oil spill boom, generators, bobcats, etc.
- Perform emergency response activities including: chemical and water spills, etiological and biological contamination, tank cleaning, equipment decontamination.
- Utilizing hand-tools and equipment, absorbent booms and pads to contain and remediate impacted surfaces, soils and waters.
We are looking for technicians who are available for emergency and/or non-emergency projects.
- 40 hour Hazwoper Certificate Required
- Additional certifications preferred- such as: Confined space entry, OSHA 30 and/or TWIC
- Able and willing to travel and work on an on-call/project basis and potentially long hours and at night
- Chemical/oil/confined space experience strongly preferred
- Desired special skills include- Tank Cleaning, Decontamination, Asbestos Certified, Safety, Supervisor Experience
- Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to perform labor intensive activities in any weather or environmental conditions
- Ability to perform duties while adhering to safety priorities while wearing PPE, such as respirators and protective clothing
- Reliable local transportation and valid driver's license
- High School Diploma or equivalent
