Job Description

Role: Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Greenwood Village, Colorado (Hybrid)

Duration: 12+ months

CTH role, can provide sponsorship

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and extend the Terraform modules that define our infrastructure; audit AWS against state, detect drift, and reconcile it.

Own the health of the GitLab CI/CD pipelines and enforce pipeline-only deployment with progressive promotion.

Operate the AWS footprint, including EKS, Helm, Istio, Aurora, DocumentDB, Redis, Amazon MQ, Route53, WAFv2, CloudFront, and S3.

Build, deploy, and validate releases across environments and document release notes.

Right-size and scale resources to meet SLAs at the lowest sustainable cost.

Partner with developers and test engineers to improve application performance.

Own monitoring and alerting end-to-end using tools such as DataDog or Splunk.

Provide first response, mitigation, recovery, and root-cause analysis for incidents and outages.

Serve as the go-to expert for infrastructure, pipeline, and resource-utilization questions.

Coordinate with onshore and offshore teammates and escalate architectural decisions to engineering leadership.

Required Qualifications

6+ years of DevOps experience within large, complex environments.

Experience with AWS and Terraform.

Proficiency with Kubernetes.

Experience with GitLab or similar CI/CD tools for pipeline deployment.

Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring tools.

Expertise with observability tooling to build dashboards, tune alert thresholds, and investigate latency, errors, and saturation.

Production experience operating containerized microservice and web-based applications.

Demonstrated experience owning production incident triage, mitigation, and root-cause analysis under SLA pressure.

Familiarity with Git-based source control and branch/merge-request workflows.

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with the application stack: Python, Node.js, React, TypeScript, and GraphQL.

Exposure to both relational (SQL) and NoSQL/document data stores.

Working knowledge of Kubernetes internals (IRSA, node groups, add-ons), Helm, and Istio service mesh.

Experience with blue/green or canary/progressive deployment patterns.

Experience with infrastructure cost optimization and resource right-sizing.

Experience with multi-account AWS architectures.

Master's degree or higher in a related field.
