Salary: Up to £125,000 + 20% bonus + car allowance

We're looking for an experienced Director - Strategic Programme Management to join a high-performing transformation consultancy and play a leading role in delivering some of the most complex and consequential transformation programmes for major organisations.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on consulting leader who enjoys being close to clients, shaping solutions, leading delivery and winning work. We're looking for someone who can combine deep programme management expertise with strong commercial instincts and the ability to build trusted relationships at executive level.

This is not a traditional P&L-focused Director role. You'll be expected to remain close to delivery, get involved in solving complex client challenges and lead from the front.

The Role

You'll work across a range of industries and transformation environments, helping clients turn strategy into tangible outcomes through effective programme, portfolio and project leadership.

You will:

• Lead complex, high-value transformation programmes and engagements, typically managing £5m-£10m+ annual programme budgets.
• Take accountability for end-to-end programme delivery, ensuring programmes are structured, governed and delivered effectively.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, including C-suite and executive leadership teams.
• Bring structure and clarity to complex transformation challenges, developing pragmatic solutions that work in the real world.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary consulting teams across large and complex engagements.
• Step into critical programme and portfolio leadership positions where your expertise can make the greatest impact.
• Shape programme strategies, operating models, governance structures, PMOs and delivery approaches.
• Identify and develop new opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
• Build strong relationships that translate into new business, account growth and repeat engagements.
• Lead proposals and pursuits, shaping compelling solutions and working closely with clients throughout the sales process.
• Develop and articulate a strong point of view on programme and portfolio management and contribute to the wider development of the practice.
• Develop the capability of the team through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in experienced consulting and professional services leaders who combine strong programme management capability, commercial acumen and a hands-on approach to delivery.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• 10+ years' experience within management consulting, advisory or professional services.
• A strong track record in programme management, portfolio management or large-scale transformation delivery.
• Experience leading major, complex programmes with budgets of £5m-£10m+ per year.
• Proven experience managing large multidisciplinary teams and taking accountability for delivery from inception through to completion.
• Strong business development and commercial capability, with a track record of identifying opportunities, developing client relationships and winning work.
• Experience working directly with senior executives and influencing stakeholders at C-suite level.
• The ability to move comfortably between strategic advisory and hands-on delivery.
• A pragmatic, entrepreneurial and "roll your sleeves up" approach to consulting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bring people together around difficult transformation challenges.
• Cross-industry experience is highly desirable. We're particularly interested in consultants who have worked across multiple sectors rather than being narrowly aligned to one industry.
• A bachelor's degree is required; master's degrees and relevant professional qualifications are advantageous.
• Professional accreditation or recognised expertise in programme/project management would be beneficial.

Location & Working

This is a London-based role, with a minimum of three days per week in the London office. Additional time on client site may be required depending on the engagement, and some programmes may require five days on-site.

The minimum three-day office commitment is a non-negotiable requirement for this position.
