Veterinary Assistant– Full-Time & Part-Time
Location: Tulare Veterinary Hospital – Tulare, CA

Tulare Veterinary Hospital is a progressive, 2-doctor mixed animal practice located in the heart of California’s Central Valley. Our team provides high-quality care to a diverse caseload, including both small animals and dairy cattle, with a strong reputation for advanced diagnostics and compassionate treatment. While we serve a mixed animal clientele, this role is dedicated to our small animal hospital team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Veterinary Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Assisting with exams, treatments, and care for patients.
  • Providing compassionate care and handling for patients of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Supporting doctors in surgery, anesthesia monitoring, and emergency procedures.
  • Performing diagnostic tests, such as lab work and radiography, under supervision.
  • Educating clients on basic pet care and post-treatment instructions.
  • Administering medications, vaccines, and maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Helping to maintain a safe, clean, and organized hospital environment.
  • Occasionally assisting with front desk duties as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Prior experience 1 + years as a Veterinary Assistant is required.
  • Skills: Strong diagnostic, technical, surgical prep, catheter placement, phlebotomy, and communication abilities.
  • Must have experience monitoring anesthesia.
  • Mindset: A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a passion for patient care.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Must be open to rotating schedules.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly pay, based on experience -
    • Full-Time - $17/hr - $23/hr
    • Part-Time - $17/hr - $21/hr
