Contract Soft Home Goods Product Designer (Hybrid)

Location: Framingham, MassachusettsJob Type: ContractCompensation Range: $40 - 45 per hourCella is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Soft Home Designer for a contract opportunity with a leading retail client. This role focuses on designing and developing original soft home artwork for both adult and kids' product lines. It offers a hands-on experience in bringing conceptual design ideas to life alongside a collaborative product development team. This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence 3 - 4 days per week in Framingham, MA. The contract is scheduled through late January 2027.

Responsibilities:Design, develop, and execute soft home artwork and surface designs for specified product programs using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Collaborate with the Product Development team throughout the full design lifecycle, from initial concept meetings through artwork execution and the prototype process. Select seasonal color palettes and apply knowledge of current market trends, color, and competitive brands to product designs. Translate, communicate, and interpret conceptual design ideas into production-ready artwork. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while maintaining flexibility, strong organization, and thorough follow-through. Work closely within a team environment to ensure alignment on product vision and deliverables.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Design, Surface Design, Illustration, Graphic Design, or equivalent practical work experience.3+ years of experience in product development with relevant product categories in textile, surface design, or soft home goods. High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is required. Background or strong interest in textile design, surface design, illustration, or product development. Demonstrated passion for home product trends, color theory, and knowledge of competitive products/brands. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
