AWS Cloud Architect

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the design and modernization of enterprise applications on AWS. This role will focus on developing scalable cloud-native solutions, designing multi-region architectures, and guiding application teams through cloud migration and modernization initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS architecture, infrastructure as code using AWS CDK with TypeScript, containerized workloads on ECS Fargate, and large-scale cloud transformation programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available AWS cloud solutions.
• Define architecture standards and best practices using AWS CDK (TypeScript).
• Lead cloud modernization and migration initiatives from legacy and on-premises platforms to AWS.
• Architect multi-region disaster recovery and high-availability solutions.
• Design container-based application platforms using ECS Fargate.
• Collaborate with development, platform, and infrastructure teams to ensure cloud solutions align with business requirements.
• Create architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and architectural decision records (ADRs).
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and manage architecture-related deliverables within Jira.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience designing enterprise-scale solutions on AWS.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS CDK using TypeScript.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services including:
• ECS Fargate, EC2, ELB, IAM, VPC, S3, Lambda and API Gateway
• RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, SQS, Secrets Manager, KMS, MSK and EFS
• Experience designing multi-region AWS architectures, including active-active and disaster recovery patterns.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, scalability, and cloud governance.
• Experience creating technical architecture documents and solution blueprints.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with VPC Lattice and cross-account service networking.
• Knowledge of Amazon EKS and Kubernetes architectures.
• Experience migrating workloads from OpenShift, PCF, or traditional virtual machine environments to AWS.
• Experience assessing and planning application migration strategies (6R framework).
• Experience modernizing messaging platforms, including TIBCO to Apache Kafka/Amazon MSK migrations.
• AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional.
