Job description

Is your current employer more bothered about how fast you get off site than how well the job's done?

That's not this role... They're a commercial gas and HVAC contractor with a strong reputation across the South Coast, and they'll tell you straight: they're not always the cheapest, because they stick to their standards.

Their engineers say the best bit of the job is seeing it through from start to finish, and that the company always has a plan for where it's heading. Everyone knows the plan, everyone's part of it. The owners are still very much involved in the day to and the culture is everything to them.

They're growing, with ambitions to become a leading HVAC specialist in the South, and they are looking for another commercial gas engineer to help get them there.

  • Planned maintenance and servicing across commercial sites in Hampshire and the surrounding areas including plant rooms and commercial boilers
  • Reactive breakdown work, diagnosed properly rather than patched up and left for the next visit
  • Life-cycle replacement work is starting to come through as their client base matures, so there's scope to grow into that side of things
  • Occasional install work, but breakdown and service is where most of your time goes

  • You'd rather get it right than get it fast. You don't cut a corner just to hit the next job on the sheet.
  • You don't need chasing. You keep people in the loop and flag issues before they become someone else's problem.
  • You take pride in the job, big or small. A five-minute call-out gets the same standard as a week-long project.
  • You want a team that invests in you properly. Development plans with the training booked and paid for, rather than promises that never land.

What you'll need

  • At least 5 years of commercial HVAC experience
  • Minimum 3 years working specifically as a commercial gas engineer
  • Relevant UK commercial gas qualifications COCN1, ACS, CODNCO1, ICPN1
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Plumbing experience is a bonus, though not essential

  • £48,000 basic salary, OTE £60,000 with the on-call rota
  • Company vehicle provided
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Standard 8-hour days, with morning travel time paid
  • Overtime rates
  • Training provided
  • Regular team get-togethers
  • A say in how your role develops, with backing to make it happen
