Job Description

2051 Senior .NET Developer, Integration & Quality Engineer

Application Engineering  |  Integration  |  Quality  |  Production Readiness

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior .NET Application Integration & Quality Engineer with strong hands-on .NET and Microsoft SQL Server expertise who can serve as the technical bridge between Business Analysts, Software Developers, Quality Assurance, and IT Operations.

Role focus: This is not a traditional manual QA position, a general application-support role, or solely a software-development position. The primary accountability is technical analysis, integration quality, root-cause determination, and production readiness.

The ideal candidate is an experienced .NET engineer who enjoys understanding how complex applications work end-to-end: analyzing requirements, reviewing code and database logic, debugging difficult problems, validating integrations, identifying gaps before they reach production, and ensuring that delivered solutions actually meet the business requirement.

This individual must be comfortable moving between business processes, application code, SQL Server, APIs and web services, integrations, testing, scheduled processes, file interfaces, and production troubleshooting.

The role will work closely with Business Analysts to add deeper technical analysis to requirements and with Developers to ensure solutions are technically sound, testable, integrated correctly, maintainable, and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and support enterprise applications built on .NET technologies, including both modern and legacy .NET applications.

Partner with Business Analysts to translate business requirements into technically complete, testable requirements.

Define technical acceptance criteria, data-validation requirements, integration mappings, exception-handling scenarios, and expected downstream results before development begins.

Identify missing requirements, technical dependencies, edge cases, integration impacts, security considerations, and potential failure scenarios before development begins.

Review proposed solutions and technical designs for completeness, integration impact, maintainability, supportability, and testability.

Perform hands-on debugging and root-cause analysis across application code, databases, web services, APIs, integrations, scheduled jobs, file transfers, and infrastructure dependencies.

Design and execute end-to-end testing that covers the complete business process rather than only individual application functions.

Perform functional, integration, regression, negative, and data-validation testing.

Validate that application changes correctly interact with upstream and downstream systems, including external customers, vendors, partner systems, APIs, data feeds, and scheduled processes.

Use SQL Server extensively for investigation and validation, including querying data, analyzing stored procedures, tracing application behavior, validating data changes, and troubleshooting database-related issues.

Test and troubleshoot REST and SOAP APIs, web services, secure file interfaces, scheduled processes, batch jobs, and other system integrations.

Reproduce production issues and trace problems through the complete technology stack to determine the actual root cause.

Work directly with Developers during troubleshooting rather than simply documenting defects and handing them off.

Validate defect corrections and application releases and help determine whether solutions are ready for production.

Perform pre-deployment validation, confirm deployment dependencies and rollback requirements, conduct post-deployment verification, and document evidence supporting production-readiness decisions.

Assist with production support and complex application incidents requiring deeper technical investigation.

Help improve development and QA practices, test coverage, technical documentation, operational supportability, and release quality.

Required Technical Skills

Candidates should have strong hands-on experience with:

       .NET and .NET Framework

       C# within the .NET ecosystem

ASP.NET and enterprise web application development

       Microsoft SQL Server

       Advanced SQL querying

       Stored procedures and database troubleshooting

       Application debugging and root-cause analysis

REST APIs and/or SOAP web services

       System-to-system integrations

       Integration and end-to-end testing

       IIS-hosted applications

Source control and modern development practices

Enterprise application support and production troubleshooting

Essential capability: The successful candidate should be capable of opening an unfamiliar .NET application, understanding its code and SQL interactions, tracing its integrations, reproducing a problem, and methodically determining where and why something is failing.

Quality Engineering / QA Experience

We are specifically interested in candidates who bring a developer-level technical understanding to application quality. Experience should include several of the following:

Creating end-to-end test scenarios from business requirements and technical acceptance criteria

       Integration testing

       Regression testing and impact analysis

       Functional and negative testing

Database and data validation using SQL

       API and web-service testing

Troubleshooting failed tests at the code and database level

       Defect reproduction and root-cause analysis

Identifying edge cases, exception paths, and failure conditions

       Validating fixes across interconnected systems

       Release-readiness and post-implementation validation

Experience with automated testing is valuable, but this position is not primarily a test-automation role. We are looking for someone capable of understanding and validating the entire solution.

Preferred Experience

Telerik UI components / Telerik for .NET

       Modern .NET and Blazor

       Legacy .NET Framework applications

       ASP.NET MVC

       JavaScript and web technologies

Azure DevOps / Azure DevOps Server

       Git

       Postman or similar API-testing tools

       Enterprise application modernization

       SQL performance troubleshooting

       Complex transactional or workflow-driven applications

Automotive, fleet, logistics, vehicle-management, or similar enterprise systems

Applications involving multiple external customers, vendors, APIs, data feeds, secure file transfers, or partner integrations

What We're Looking For

The strongest candidate will naturally ask: What happens before this process? What happens afterward? What other systems depend on this? What happens if this fails? What does the database actually show? How can I reproduce it? And how do we prove the entire process works?

They should be equally comfortable discussing a business workflow with a Business Analyst, examining a .NET application with a Developer, querying SQL Server to determine what actually occurred, testing an API integration, and explaining the root cause of a production problem.

We are looking for someone who does not stop at "the test failed." We want someone who can determine why it failed, where it failed, what else could be affected, and whether the solution truly fixes the underlying problem.

Ideal Candidate Profile

This position is an excellent fit for an experienced .NET developer who has naturally gravitated toward troubleshooting, integration, technical analysis, and quality engineering, or a highly technical QA / Integration Engineer with significant hands-on .NET and SQL development experience.

Strong .NET and SQL skills are essential. This individual must possess enough software-development depth to work effectively with senior Developers while also having the analytical and quality mindset necessary to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation.
