Software Tester

Role Summary

This position develops, tests, and supports mechanical technologies for hot tapping and plugging applications within the pipeline industry. The role supports new products and tools from development through testing and deployment, with a focus on functional reliability, product performance, technical documentation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop, assemble, and test prototypes according to established test plans and engineering requirements.
• Design test vessels, fixtures, and related mechanical components using CAD and engineering development tools.
• Research emerging technologies, technical publications, and user feedback to identify opportunities for product improvements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems and components, perform root-cause analysis, and develop effective solutions.
• Develop and review engineering calculations, finite element analysis (FEA), test results, and technical documentation.
• Create test plans, reports, and supporting documentation for project milestones and product development activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and other teams to support product development and manufacturability.
• Coordinate technical activities to support established project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Analyze data collected from sensors and data acquisition systems during product testing and validation.
• Contribute to research, development, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably involving product development, mechanical design, or testing.
• Hands-on experience with engineering testing, validation, and data acquisition.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering calculations, design principles, and finite element analysis.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software; SolidWorks experience is preferred.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Pay Range: $40.00 to $45.00 Hourly
