Job description

Create your best future and join the Data & AI Practice as a Senior Change Manager - Westpac Intelligence Transformation

What's the role?

Westpac Intelligence is building new capabilities in machine learning, agentic data engineering, conversational analytics and intelligent decisioning that will transform how Data, Analytics and AI practitioners work, how insights are generated and how decisions are made across the organisation. As a Senior Change Manager, you'll help our people successfully adopt these capabilities and transition to AI-enabled ways of working. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting close to the work, partnering directly with practitioners, understanding how they operate today and designing practical interventions that help people build new skills, adopt new behaviours and work differently. Working as part of the Data & AI Practice, you'll partner closely with the Craft Excellence Lead, Standards Lead, Community & Engagement Lead, technology teams and strategic partners to drive capability uplift, workforce transformation and adoption across the Data & AI community.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute change and adoption strategies for Westpac Intelligence capabilities and initiatives.
  • Work directly with practitioners, leaders and delivery teams to understand impacts, identify barriers and accelerate adoption.
  • Design and deliver stakeholder engagement, education, capability uplift and behavioural change activities.
  • Help practitioners build confidence in AI, analytics, decisioning and automation capabilities.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into practical business and practitioner outcomes.
  • Use adoption data, behavioural insights and practitioner feedback to design interventions that improve uptake and value realisation.
  • Partner with technology teams, vendors and Practice leaders to align capability delivery and adoption.
  • Work with the Craft Excellence Lead to align adoption activities with the Practice's future skills, workforce and capability strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Standards Lead and Community & Engagement Lead to ensure practitioners receive a coordinated experience across standards, tooling, capability and community initiatives.
  • Work closely with other Change Managers across the Practice to align narratives, coordinate impacts and identify opportunities for shared capability uplift.

What do I need?

We're looking for someone who has helped organisations adopt transformational Data, Analytics, AI or digital capabilities that materially changed how people work.
You might have supported the rollout of an enterprise AI platform, analytics modernisation program, cloud data platform, intelligent decisioning capability, advanced analytics capability or digital transformation that reshaped practitioner workflows and operating models. You'll be comfortable working with Engineers, Analysts, Data Scientists, Product teams and business stakeholders, translating complex technology into meaningful outcomes and creating practical interventions that build capability, shift behaviours and accelerate adoption. We're particularly interested in candidates who are AI-native in the way they work. You actively use AI to improve productivity, accelerate research, strengthen stakeholder engagement and design better change outcomes. Whether it's change planning, stakeholder analysis, workshop preparation, communication development, capability uplift or intervention design, you look for opportunities to use AI to work smarter and help others do the same. Experience with Snowflake, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, Databricks, H2O.ai, enterprise AI transformation programs, advanced analytics platforms or decision intelligence capabilities will be highly regarded.

Key skills and experience required:

  • Experience leading change within Data, Analytics, AI, Digital or Technology transformation programs.
  • Experience supporting capability rollouts that significantly changed how practitioners perform their work.
  • Experience working with technical practitioner groups including Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, Analysts, Product teams or Software Engineers.
  • Experience developing communication, engagement, capability uplift and adoption strategies.
  • Experience using behavioural insights, adoption measures and practitioner feedback to improve change outcomes.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve productivity, accelerate research, strengthen stakeholder engagement and design more effective change interventions.
  • Ability to build credibility with highly technical practitioners and influence adoption without formal authority.
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills.
