The Opportunity

We are looking for an ambitious Graduate Finance Data Analyst to join our commercial finance and lending team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate who enjoys working with numbers, financial information and data and wants to build a career within the commercial finance sector.

Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you will help analyse business financial information, lending data and commercial performance to support informed funding decisions and client solutions.

You do not need extensive industry experience. We are looking for someone with strong analytical ability, commercial awareness and the motivation to develop their technical knowledge within a professional finance environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Analysing company financial statements, management accounts and other financial information.
• Reviewing commercial lending and funding data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Supporting the assessment of business affordability, cash flow and financial performance.
• Building and maintaining financial models, spreadsheets and analytical reports.
• Reviewing historical financial data and identifying significant movements or anomalies.
• Supporting senior team members with credit and commercial analysis.
• Researching market, sector and economic information relevant to lending decisions.
• Preparing clear summaries of complex financial information for internal stakeholders.
• Maintaining accurate financial and client data within internal systems.
• Assisting with portfolio and management reporting.
• Using Excel and other analytical tools to improve the efficiency and quality of financial analysis.
• Developing an understanding of different commercial lending products and funding structures.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from recent graduates and candidates at the beginning of their finance careers.

Ideally, you will have:

• A degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Data Analytics or another relevant discipline.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• An ability to interpret financial and business information.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Good commercial awareness and an interest in the UK finance and lending sector.
• The ability to manage multiple pieces of work and meet deadlines.
• Evidence of relevant ongoing CPD or professional development would be advantageous.
• A willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility.

Knowledge of financial modelling, Power BI, SQL or other data-analysis tools would be advantageous but is not essential.
