Color & Materials/Product Designer

Akkodis is seeking a Color & Materials/Product Designer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, coordinating, and recommending innovative interior and exterior color, material, and trim programs that enhance vehicle design and customer appeal.

Rate Range: $30/hour to $34/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Color & Materials/Product Designer Job Responsibilities include:

• Develop and recommend annual interior and exterior color, material, and trim strategies aligned with brand vision and market trends.
• Research and analyze consumer, fashion, and design trends to create innovative and customer-focused design concepts.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, and product development teams to ensure successful integration of color and material selections into vehicle programs.
• Create and present high-quality design proposals, mood boards, renderings, and visual concepts using industry-standard design tools.
• Support design reviews and provide recommendations on color, material, and finish selections throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Work closely with stakeholders to deliver creative solutions, meet project deadlines, and maintain design consistency across multiple vehicle programs.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in industrial design, Transportation Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Color & Material Design, or a related creative field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Color & Materials Design, Industrial Design, or related creative disciplines.
• Strong expertise in color, material, and trim development, trend forecasting, and concept creation for consumer products or automotive applications.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Blender, Rhino, Alias, Miro, ProtoPie, or VRED, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional design environments.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $34.00 per hour
