Steward Gastronomie an Bord | Köln, Germany | Hybrid

We're hiring on behalf of a well-established German transport group that offers a unique opportunity for individuals looking to enter the hospitality and service industry. This role offers a structured training program designed to equip you with the skills needed to excel in a customer-facing role, with the potential for a long-term career within a major organization.

The Role

  • Provide exceptional gastronomic service to guests on Intercity and ICE trains.
  • Act as a welcoming host, ensuring a pleasant atmosphere and assisting passengers with boarding and alighting.
  • Prepare food and beverages in the onboard restaurant.
  • Serve food and drink offerings to guests in both first and second class.
  • Be a knowledgeable point of contact for guests, offering assistance and resolving issues courteously.
  • Maintain high service quality to ensure guests feel comfortable and well-cared for.

What You'll Need

  • A completed apprenticeship in a service-oriented profession (e.g., Restaurant Specialist, Hotel Specialist) or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience in gastronomy or hospitality is a plus.
  • Sales-oriented approach to achieve revenue targets through upselling and alternative offers.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to handle conflict situations effectively.
  • Openness to using digital communication tools like tablets and apps.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional overnight stays and work irregular shift patterns.
  • Fluent German (B2 level) and conversational English skills.
