Your Role
Provide 2nd line engineering and controls expertise to support troubleshooting of building services plant, equipment and control systems.
Lead primarily on gas system related issues, providing advice and direction.
Review and respond to BMS alarms, resolving issues remotely where possible and raising work tasks when required.
Support maintenance engineers with advanced fault finding and develop team capability in BMS and controls systems.
Provide technical information and guidance to maintenance teams to support effective service delivery.
Identify improvements that reduce plant failures, customer calls and operational risk.
Provide regular reporting on alarm management and system performance.
Escalate lifecycle replacement requirements through the risk escalation process with supporting technical justification.
Review subcontractor quotations for BMS and control system works and undertake suitable technical tasks.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications: BTEC Level 3, trade apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in gas, mechanical or electrical engineering, or relevant job-related experience.
Experience: Strong knowledge of HVAC, heating and hot water systems, with the ability to interpret system schematic drawings. Experience supporting maintenance operations and troubleshooting complex building services systems is essential.
Skills: Excellent diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical approach to fault finding. Strong communication skills, effective workload prioritisation and excellent Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge are required.
