Project Manager

Responsibilities:

• Manage medium to extra-large complexity projects through full project life cycle activities utilizing appropriate methodologies and tools, planning and communication, and acquire, develop, and manage the project team. • Perform all standard project management deliverables including scope and objectives, change management, risk mitigation, budgeting, stakeholder communication, project and vendor engagement, subject matter expert utilization, implementation, and project closure.

• Develop and manage project status reports for communicating with project stakeholders and reporting key metrics for the PMO dashboard.

• Implement change management practices in accordance with agency and PMO guidance.

• Forecast, manage, and acquire (as necessary) resources needed to achieve project objectives.

• Ensure project activities and deliverables adhere to federal, state, or agency documented guidelines.

• Facilitate and manage contract processes from initiation to closure.

• Routinely perform gap analysis, root cause analysis, and offer recommendations for successful project outcomes.

• Demonstrate dynamic ability to lead group facilitation activities for the agency especially in areas requiring interaction of an independent party.

• Education preferences: Graduate level degree in Project Management, MBA, MPH or related degree.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a formal project manager. Preference given to experience in state government, regulatory or similar service-related business.

• Certifications preferred: PMP, LSSBB, CSM

• Experience with Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid project management methodologies.

• Strong familiarity with and/or the ability to use MS Project.

• Understanding and experience with the Project Management Institute's (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide and Standards.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and multi-tasking capabilities.

• Well-organized and detail oriented. Minimum tier for a project manager is Level II, and we are looking for someone with non-technology and/or core technology experience.

12 months with the option to renew

Hybrid work: the position will be expected to perform work onsite for a minimum of 3 days per work week, with an expectation to work onsite additional days depending on project requirements for a given week. This position will perform 40 hours of work per week typically accrued anytime between the agency’s standard working hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday-Friday.
