WMPF is one of the UK’s largest pension funds providing local authority pension benefits for employees across the West Midlands. We manage and administer the pension interests of over 330,000 scheme members, 800+ employers and currently have over £21 billion in assets under management.
We are recruiting for an Investment Analyst to join our continually growing Investments Service area. Our brand-new offices are based at the i9 building in Wolverhampton and is an excellent location for transport links by car, bus, train and tram.
What the day will look like
Responsibilities include:
- To support and assist with the development of the Fund’s investment strategy through investigative analysis and monitoring of investment issues across the WMPF portfolios/investments including responsible investment issues.
- Contribute to and help develop the Fund’s responsible investment and climate change strategy as required. Monitoring of the Fund’s investment portfolio through checking actual asset allocation and cash flow and recommending changes as required.
- Producing accurate reporting of performance of the portfolios, liaising with internal and external providers and presenting written and verbal reports, including appropriate commentary and recommendations, to management and internal committees as required.
- Assist with the implementation of the Fund’s investment strategy through interacting with internal compliance resource and external legal advisers to ensure appropriate due diligence done on any proposed new investment agreements.
About you
The ideal candidate for this role is a degree-educated professional with substantial investment experience or a strong understanding of economic and investment factors, alongside excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills. They are self-motivated, team-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality investment services while meeting strict deadlines and maintaining professional standards.
