  • Develop and review automation solutions using Ansible and Apache Airflow or equivalent orchestration tools.

  • Establish Git-based engineering practices, including version control, branching strategies, code reviews, and controlled releases.

  • Provide technical guidance for Linux and Windows Server engineering and automation activities.

  • Review supplier-developed code and automation deliverables to ensure quality, maintainability, security, and compliance with engineering standards.

  • Coordinate technical dependencies, architecture decisions, and proposed framework changes with the HPE PCE-D automation team.

  • Guide the design and implementation of Day 0 and Day 1 infrastructure automation.

  • Provide technical oversight for upgrade, rollback, and testing strategies.

  • Review engineering plans, technical documentation, and the STIG Applicability Matrix.

  • Evaluate proposed Smart CID and automation framework changes and coordinate their technical impact across workstreams.

  • Ensure delivery of implementation documentation, operational procedures, testing evidence, and knowledge-transfer materials.

  • Identify technical risks, resolve design issues, and maintain consistency across automation workstreams.

Required Technical Skills

  • Ansible: Strong hands-on expertise in automation playbooks, roles, inventories, and reusable automation components.

  • Workflow Orchestration: Experience with Apache Airflow or equivalent orchestration platforms.

  • Git-Based Engineering: Proficiency in source control, branching strategies, code reviews, repository management, and release practices.

  • Linux Engineering: Experience with Linux server administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and automation.

  • Windows Server Engineering: Experience supporting Windows Server environments and infrastructure automation.

  • Automation Architecture: Ability to design workflows, repository structures, reusable frameworks, and engineering standards.

  • Code Review: Experience reviewing automation code, assessing technical quality, and guiding supplier or engineering teams.

  • Technical Documentation: Ability to develop and review engineering plans, testing artifacts, upgrade and rollback procedures, and knowledge-transfer documentation.

Key Deliverables

  • Engineering Plan and STIG Applicability Matrix.

  • Day 0 / Day 1 automation architecture and workflow design.

  • Proposed Smart CID and automation framework changes.

  • Standardized repository structures, coding guidelines, and code-review practices.

  • Technical oversight of upgrade, rollback, and testing artifacts.

  • Implementation documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.

Professional Skills

  • Strong technical leadership and architectural decision-making.

  • Analytical problem-solving and dependency management.

  • Clear communication with engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.

  • Ability to maintain engineering quality and consistency across multiple workstreams.
