Job Description

Senior Business Analyst Cloud Migration & Application Modernization
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in large-scale cloud transformation initiatives, helping migrate business-critical applications from on-premises data centers to AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) while identifying opportunities for selective application modernization and process improvement.
You will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders, product owners, architects, engineers, infrastructure teams, and operations organizations. Your ability to elicit, analyze, document, and trace requirements will directly influence the success of cloud migration and modernization programs.
This role is ideal for an experienced Business Analyst who excels at transforming complex business and technical requirements into clear, actionable deliverables.
What You'll Do
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define future-state capabilities for cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, workshops, interviews, and discovery activities.
Lead Fit-Gap Analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and modernization during migration efforts.
Develop and maintain:
o Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
o Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs)
o Functional Requirements Specifications
o Use Cases and User Stories
o Process Flows and Current/Future State Models
o Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs)
Ensure requirements are prioritized, approved, tested, and traceable through implementation.
Partner with QA, development, architecture, and project management teams to support delivery and validation activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
8+ years of Business Analysis experience supporting enterprise technology initiatives.
Demonstrated experience supporting application migration projects from on-premises environments to AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience working within enterprise cloud landing zones, governance frameworks, security controls, and shared platform services.
Expert-level experience creating BRDs, TRDs, RTMs, use cases, user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery practices, and requirements lifecycle management.
Advanced proficiency with Jira, including backlog management, epic decomposition, story creation, requirements traceability, workflow management, and reporting.
Exceptional written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
CBAP, PMI-PBA, or similar Business Analysis certification.
Experience within fintech, payments, banking, or highly regulated industries.
Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, APIs, DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
Experience utilizing Microsoft Copilot or other AI-enabled productivity tools.
Success in the First 12 Months
Deliver complete and highly accurate requirements documentation for cloud migration and modernization programs.
Establish end-to-end requirements traceability from business need through deployment.
Drive meaningful modernization opportunities beyond simple lift-and-shift migrations.
Become a trusted partner to business leaders, solution architects, engineers, and project managers.
Improve delivery quality through rigorous analysis, documentation, and stakeholder alignment.
