Job Description

Interim Early Careers Programme Manager

Remote (with occasional travel to Birmingham) | Immediate Start | Contract until January 2027 with potential extension


We're partnering with a leading organisation to recruit an Interim Early Careers Programme Manager to support the delivery and ongoing development of a well-established graduate programme.


This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Early Careers, Graduate Programme, or Learning & Development professional to take ownership of key initiatives, including the delivery of large-scale graduate events, programme evaluation, and stakeholder engagement across the business.


The Opportunity

Joining during a critical period, you'll provide interim leadership while the organisation recruits a permanent Early Careers Programme Manager. Your focus will be on ensuring the successful delivery of graduate development initiatives and helping shape the future direction of the programme.


The organisation welcomes approximately 150 graduates each year and places a strong emphasis on creating engaging learning experiences that support early-career talent to develop and thrive.


Key Responsibilities

Graduate Programme Launch

While the event has already been designed and planned, you will play a key role in ensuring its successful execution by:

  • Coordinating and managing speaker engagement
  • Overseeing event logistics and scheduling
  • Ensuring seamless delivery throughout the programme
  • Providing support and guidance to graduates attending the event
  • Acting as the central point of contact during the event


Graduate Programme Review

As part of a wider continuous improvement agenda, you'll lead a comprehensive review of the existing graduate programme.


This will involve:

  • Evaluating the current programme offering
  • Identifying strengths, successes, and areas of improvement
  • Assessing whether the programme remains fit for purpose
  • Making recommendations for future enhancements
  • Working closely with key stakeholders across the business, including clinical teams and senior leaders


Graduate Congress

You'll also support the planning and preparation of the organisation's flagship Graduate Congress , a two-day development event.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting event planning and preparation
  • Coordinating stakeholders and contributors
  • Managing learning and development content
  • Supporting event delivery and attendee experience
  • Ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all participants


About You

We're looking for someone who brings a strong blend of Early Careers and Learning & Development experience .


You may currently be working as an:

  • Early Careers Manager
  • Graduate Programme Manager
  • Emerging Talent Manager
  • Talent Development Manager
  • Learning & Development Manager
  • Early Careers Advisor or Specialist ready for a step up


To be successful, you'll have:

  • Previous experience working within Early Careers, Graduate Programmes, or Emerging Talent
  • A Learning & Development background with a strong understanding of early-career learning journeys
  • Experience designing, managing, or supporting development programmes
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Experience delivering large-scale learning, development, or graduate events
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities


Industry experience is flexible. The key requirement is demonstrable experience within Early Careers and/or Learning & Development environments .
