The Team
Our Regional Underwriting team plays a key role in driving profitable growth across our broker network throughout Yorkshire and theNorth-East regions. Working closely with brokers , underwritingcolleaguesand regional leadership teams, we deliver excellent service, build long-term tradingrelationships and create sustainable growth opportunities.
We'relooking for an ambitious commercial underwriter who is ready to take the next step in their career. This role has been designed as a development opportunity, giving you exposure to broker development, regional tradingactivityand relationship management, while building the technical and commercial skills needed to progress towards a future Development Underwriter role.
What you can expect in this role
You'll play an important role in supporting the growth of our business by building positive relationships with brokers across the region.
You'll work closely with our Underwriting team, Development Underwriters and brokers, helping to find the right solutions for our customers.
You'll contribute to a team that's focused on delivering great service, sharing knowledge and continuously improving the way we work.
You'll have opportunities to learn, develop and grow , with support to build your underwriting, trading and relationship management skills.
You'll gain exposure to a wide range of commercial insurance risks and broker interactions, helping you broaden your experience.
What you might bring
Experience in commercial underwriting , and an interest in developing your career within this area.
Communication and relationship-building skills, with a willingness to learn and develop broker-facing expertise .
A curious mindset and the confidence to ask questions, share ideas and learn from others.
A collaborative approach and a desire to contribute to a supportive team environment.
An organised and thoughtful way of working, with good attention to detail.
