Job Description:

We are hiring a Business Systems Analyst for a fully remote role supporting a large financial services client. Deep, hands-on experience with alternative investments is mandatory.

About the Role
You will be the link between the product and business teams and the engineering team. You take the business requirements they have captured and turn them into system and engineering requirements for the alternative investments platform.

What You Will Do

Translate requirements

• Turn business requirements into detailed technical requirements, functional specifications, and user stories for engineers.
• Cover standard flows, exceptions, and edge cases.
• Document calculations, validation rules, state transitions, and exception handling, with data samples.

Workflow, data, and interface design

• Define system workflows, data mapping across entities, and Application Programming Interface integration needs.
• Work from a solid understanding of data models and how data entities relate.
• Identify and document data elements, sources, transformations, validations, and mappings.
• Write specifications for system interactions: source and target, triggers, sequencing, dependencies, and expected success and failure behavior.
• Document requirements for Application Programming Interface, event, batch, file, and other interfaces.

Impact analysis

• Perform gap analysis and assess the impact of changes on existing systems.

Testing support

• Define functional testing requirements for the Quality Assurance team.
• Define functional test scenarios and their expected results, with sample data.

What We Need

• Strong, proven knowledge of alternative investments (required).
• Experience writing detailed functional and technical specifications for engineering teams
