Test Engineer with Security Clearance

Position Description & Qualifications Serco is currently seeking a Systems Test Engineer to work on-site at the Middletown RI office in a temporary position. The selected team member will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other developers on various Navy Command and Control Systems Training Systems. These are computer-based simulations designed to train Navy sailors on various shipboard systems in a classroom/lab setting. In this role, you will:

• Develop or update functional test procedures to ensure the system requirements are verified/validated during integration and acceptance tests
• Conduct manual and automated testing of trainer software designed to emulate Navy Surface Ship Combat Systems against the system requirements, using the functional test procedures
• Documents Defects and track Defects throughout the testing process
• Support the preparation and presentation of technical reports and briefings in relation to test events To be successful in this role, you must have:
• Bachelor's degree
• An associate degree plus two additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
• 5 years of relevant experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
• Experience with functional testing of software systems
• Experience with the development of test procedures
• Experience with MS Office products, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to collaboration efficiently and effectively
• The ability to travel up to 10% Additional desired qualifications:
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Experience or knowledge in the operation of Navy Combat Stems (Aegis, Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS), and/or Littoral Combat Ship (LCS))
• Experience testing simulation-based software products
• Ability to communicate and discuss testing related issues with DoD sponsors.
• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
