Hybrid Role - 1-2 days/wk

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop and enhance AI-enabled web applications supporting federal government programs
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and production support
- Integrate generative AI models and capabilities into scalable, user-facing applications
- Build and support both front-end and back-end components within modern application environments
- Develop and integrate APIs connecting applications, AI models, and supporting services
- Collaborate with developers, AI/ML engineers, product teams, and other technical stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions
- Support ongoing improvement and scalability of applications as program and user needs evolve
- Deploy and support applications within cloud environments such as AWS or Azure
- Apply best practices for security, compliance, and performance in federal technology environments
- Bachelor's degree
- Active Security Clearance (Public Trust, Secret, TS/SCI, etc.)
- 3 to 5 years of professional software or application development experience
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle (build, test, deploy, support)
- Hands-on front-end development with JavaScript or TypeScript and frameworks like React or Next.js
- Backend development experience with Python and frameworks such as FastAPI, Node.js, or similar
- Experience integrating generative AI or large language models into applications
- Experience developing and integrating APIs within web-based applications
- Experience deploying or supporting applications in AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments
NICE TO HAVE
- Active DOT Public Trust
- Experience supporting federal government programs or working in federal technology environments
- Experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Experience with vector databases
- Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source large language models
- Experience with model fine tuning or AI inference optimization
- Background combining software development with data science or machine learning
