Job Description

Core Purpose of the Role:

Serve as a technical account manager for North American wireless carriers, coordinating between customers and internal R&D and testing teams to guide smartphones and mobile devices through carrier certification and testing until final carrier approval is obtained.

This role combines customer relationship management, technical communication, project management, and certification testing coordination. It is neither a purely sales-oriented position nor a laboratory testing role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Technical Liaison: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for North American wireless carriers and third-party customers. Understand customer requirements and coordinate with internal teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Carrier Certification: Drive the entire certification process, from pre-testing and formal testing through issue resolution and final carrier approval.
  • Project Management: Independently manage multiple concurrent testing projects across different device models, tracking project milestones, testing issues, and delivery deadlines.
  • Technical Issue Coordination: Bridge communication between customers and R&D and testing teams in China to ensure technical issues are clearly understood and resolved promptly.
  • Carrier Acceptance Support: Coordinate testing resources and drive project execution in accordance with the certification and acceptance requirements of different carriers.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in telecommunications engineering, electronic information engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Industry Experience: At least 5 years of experience in mobile devices or smartphones.
  • Core Experience: At least 3 years of experience in North American carrier testing, certification, or technical customer engagement.
  • Carrier Knowledge: Familiarity with device acceptance and approval processes at AT&T, Verizon (VZW), T-Mobile, Tracfone, and other carriers.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with NAC, PCO, 3GPP protocols, RCS, eSIM, TTY, RF, power consumption, IOT, and related technologies or carrier-specific testing requirements.
  • Project Management: Ability to independently drive concurrent testing and certification projects across multiple device models.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate independently with North American customers.
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to accept direct employment through a U.S. entity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience at Verizon (VZW) in technical account management, a TAM role, or carrier certification and technical coordination.
  • Familiarity with North American carrier organizational structures, project workflows, and customer requirements.
  • Existing carrier relationships or relevant industry connections.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese, enabling effective coordination between U.S. customers and technical teams in China.
  • Candidates at a relatively early or mid-career stage may be considered, although relevant experience and demonstrated ability to perform the role should remain the primary selection criteria.

Important language clarification: Chinese proficiency is not a mandatory requirement. Candidates who are native English speakers or otherwise fluent in English may also be considered. The key requirements are the ability to communicate independently with customers and coordinate effectively with internal Chinese-speaking technical teams.
