Now hiring for an Assembly Technician

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Education Requirements


  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Associate degree in Electronics Technology or a related technical field preferred.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow electronic work orders, assembly instructions, product specifications, and manufacturing documentation.

  • Basic computer skills with the ability to navigate production and inventory software systems.


Experience Requirements


  • 2+ years of previous experience in manufacturing, electronics assembly, mechanical assembly, or production environments.

  • Experience using hand tools, powered screwdrivers, and assembly equipment.

  • Basic soldering experience preferred, including soldering wires, cable assemblies, and electronic components.

  • Experience performing quality inspections and documenting production activities is a plus.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures and electronic component handling.

  • Familiarity with IPC J-STD-001 soldering standards preferred.

  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

  • Continuous improvement mindset with a willingness to learn new processes and technologies.


Physical Capabilities


  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for assembly, soldering, grasping, and handling small components.

  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, and lift materials as required.

  • Ability to frequently lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Strong visual acuity required for inspecting small components, identifying defects, reading specifications, and performing detailed assembly work.

  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements throughout the shift.


Job Duties


  • Assemble consumer electronic products and subassemblies according to work instructions, quality standards, and production schedules.

  • Review electronic work orders, assembly documentation, and product specifications using company software systems.

  • Retrieve components and materials from inventory locations and stage them for production.

  • Perform hand assembly of electronic and mechanical components.

  • Operate powered screwdrivers, assembly fixtures, jigs, and automated screw-driving equipment.

  • Perform soldering operations on wires, cable assemblies, and electronic components according to established workmanship standards.

  • Follow ESD control procedures to protect sensitive electronic assemblies.

  • Conduct visual inspections to verify product quality, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.

  • Identify and report defects, equipment issues, material shortages, and quality concerns.

  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.

  • Assist with incoming product inspections as needed.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with other production activities as assigned.
