Job Description

Job Title: Senior PCB Design & Layout Engineer RF / Cellular Hardware

Location: Remote
Experience: Senior-level PCB design and layout experience

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced PCB Design & Layout Engineer to support modifications to an existing electronic board as part of a cellular modem replacement project. The engineer will translate hardware design requirements into an updated PCB layout, ensuring that RF routing, antenna interfaces, power delivery, and board-level implementation meet the design requirements.

Experience with LTE/4G/5G cellular hardware is preferred. Familiarity with Nordic Semiconductor nRF9151 or nRF91M1 and low-power electronic devices is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review existing schematics, PCB layouts, and hardware design constraints.
  • Modify the existing PCB layout to accommodate a replacement cellular modem.
  • Update component placement, routing, footprints, and board interconnections as required.
  • Implement RF layout practices, including controlled-impedance routing, grounding, and antenna-feed routing.
  • Support power-supply routing, grounding, and signal-integrity considerations.
  • Coordinate with the RF/hardware engineer on schematic changes and component placement.
  • Prepare updated PCB design files and manufacturing deliverables.
  • Support prototypes bring-up, layout troubleshooting, and design revisions.

Required Skills

  • Hands-on PCB design and layout experience.
  • Experience modifying existing PCB designs and incorporating component or modem replacements.
  • Understanding multilayer PCB design, grounding, routing, and signal integrity.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and work with hardware design engineers.
  • Experience using PCB CAD tools such as Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro.

Preferred Skills

  • RF PCB layout experience for cellular or wireless products.
  • LTE/4G/5G modem integration projects.
  • Controlled-impedance routing and antenna-feed layout.
  • Nordic nRF9151 or nRF91M1 hardware familiarity.
  • Low-power and battery-operated device design.
  • Prototype fabrication, board bring-up, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM).

Ideal Candidate

A PCB layout specialist who has worked on wireless or cellular hardware and can efficiently update an existing board to support a new modem while preserving RF performance and manufacturability.
