Onsite WORKING

Location: Central London, Greater London - United Kingdom Type: Permanent

Discretionary Trader

Location: London / New York

We are looking for a motivated and analytical Trader to join our clients growing trading teams. The successful candidate will work closely with senior traders, portfolio managers and quantitative researchers to identify and evaluate trading opportunities, monitor portfolio risk and performance, and execute trades across a range of markets and asset classes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage discretionary trading portfolios, including hedging and position maintenance.
  • Analyse market news, events and price movements to identify potential trading opportunities.
  • Work with the wider trading team and researchers to evaluate and develop new trade ideas, working on strategies solo and team projects.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and risk.
  • Execute trades, including larger or more complex transactions where required.
  • Use internal research tools, market data and external research to support investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across trading, research and other teams.
Skills & Experience
  • A strong academic background in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A genuine interest in financial markets and trading.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Programming experience, particularly Python, would be beneficial but is not essential.
