Labor Supervisor
LABOR SUPERVISOR Based out of the Cleveland Ohio, the Labor Supervisor supports Human Resources and labor relations activities for DFM's IFM operations, including locations across Ohio and New York. Working closely with Operations leadership and the People Services team, this position serves as the primary on-site HR resource by supporting employee relations, labor relations, recruiting, onboarding, investigations, and day-to-day workforce administration. LABOR SUPERVISOR Based out of the Cleveland Ohio, the Labor Supervisor supports Human Resources and labor relations activities for DFM's IFM operations, including locations across Ohio and New York. Working closely with Operations leadership and the People Services team, this position serves as the primary on-site HR resource by supporting employee relations, labor relations, recruiting, onboarding, investigations, and day-to-day workforce administration. Primary Goals and Responsibilities Labor Relations
- Support the day-to-day administration of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) across locations.
- Assist supervisors with contract interpretation, attendance administration, work rules, and progressive discipline.
- Coordinate grievance administration, including research, documentation, grievance tracking, and meeting preparation.
- Participate in grievance meetings, labor-management meetings, disciplinary meetings, and other labor relations discussions.
- Maintain labor relations files, grievance logs, and required documentation.
- Build positive working relationships with union representatives while maintaining the Company's position.
- Escalate complex labor relations matters to the Sr. Human Resources Manager as appropriate.
- Conduct routine workplace investigations involving attendance, misconduct, policy violations, safety concerns, and employee complaints.
- Interview employees, supervisors, and witnesses while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Prepare investigation summaries and supporting documentation.
- Partner with operations leadership to resolve employee concerns in a timely and consistent manner.
- Assist supervisors with coaching documentation, corrective actions, and performance discussions.
- Promote positive employee relations and consistent application of Company policies.
- Coordinate recruiting activities for assigned locations.
- Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Coordinate background checks, drug screenings, employment verifications, and pre-employment requirements.
- Complete new hire processing in Paycor.
- Coordinate orientation, first-day logistics, badge requests, and IT equipment requests.
- Partner with hiring managers to ensure a positive onboarding experience.
- Support recruiting events, hiring fairs, and customer launch staffing initiatives as needed.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned operations.
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation within Paycor.
- Process employment verifications, personnel changes, and required HR documentation.
- Respond to employee questions regarding Company policies, benefits, and HR processes.
- Assist with leave administration and unemployment claims.
- Support HR compliance initiatives and internal audits.
- Prepare workforce and labor relations reports as requested.
- Participate in People Services projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of Human Resources or Labor Relations experience required.
- Union or labor relations experience required.
- UAW experience strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting employee relations, investigations, and progressive discipline.
- Experience with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding.
- Working knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
- Experience with HRIS systems (Paycor preferred).
- Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between assigned locations.
