We’re looking for experienced Software Engineers / AI Engineers to contribute to an exciting project focused on training and evaluating next-generation AI systems.

Role: AI Engineer

Location: Remote — USA

Type: Contractor

Hours: Approximately 15 hours/week

Schedule: Flexible — you choose your working hours/days

What You’ll Do

As an expert, you’ll help create Reinforcement Learning (RL) environments that test AI models on complex software-engineering tasks.

Your work may include:

• Fixing bugs and implementing software features

• Refactoring and improving existing codebases

• Optimizing software performance and scalability

• Designing reproducible engineering environments

• Building deterministic verification systems

• Creating golden/reference solutions

• Working with Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools and real MCP servers

• Evaluating an AI agent’s ability to discover information, reason, and solve software-engineering problems

Your expertise will directly contribute to improving how AI systems learn, reason, use tools, and solve real-world engineering problems.

Required Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience
• Proficiency in at least one of: C++, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization
• Demonstrated experience debugging complex software issues
• Experience with feature development and codebase refactoring
• Experience optimizing software for performance and scalability
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale or distributed codebases
• Familiarity with AI/ML systems, LLMs, or AI agents
• Experience with MCP / Model Context Protocol or tool-using AI agents
• Experience with rigorous code reviews and software engineering best practices
• Background in distributed systems, infrastructure, developer tools, or systems engineering
• AI/ML experience is a plus, but not required. Strong software-engineering expertise is what matters most.

Compensation: Output-based; experts are paid per completed task that meets project specifications. Minimum weekly submission requirements apply.
