Job Description

The Senior Buyer is responsible for providing supply chain management services supporting our customer projects.  The Senior Buyer will coordinate material quotes, sourcing selection and procurement activities for all customer component requirements. The Senior Buyer will monitor electronic component markets to be able to develop and communicate supply strategies to our customers.  Additionally, the Senior Buyer will maintain purchasing databases to include procurement lead-times, minimum and multiple buy quantities, appropriate inventory levels, and vendor performance.

What you’ll do:

Purchase material to MRP in support of customer demand.

Interface with customers in support of the Program Team(s) (component requirements, AML, availability, excess, quality issues, etc.)

Provide quote support for both current and potential customers, purchasing & managing material.

Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers.

Maintain purchasing and material databases.

Support accounting, material control and inventory requirements.

Negotiate long term agreements as appropriate.

Develop purchasing policies and procedures as required.

Flow down customer requirements that could include Federal Acquisition Requirements and DPAS ratings.

What you’ll need:

Advanced proficiency in computer systems, including MS Excel (vlookups, etc), Office, and Outlook.

Strong problem solving, proactive follow-up and relationship building and negotiation skills.

Self-motivated, initiative for processes (problem-solving, making decisions, taking risks, owning outcome).

3-5 years’ experience purchasing variety of electronic components; business degree/equivalent.

Experience purchasing equipment and MRO for a manufacturing environment preferred.

Business degree or equivalent required.

Work experience in an ISO certified business is preferred.

Working knowledge of MRP and inventory management required.

CPSM or CPIM preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor degree in supply chain management or equivalent business degree.

 Experience purchasing of a variety of electronics components to include passive and active components such as, semiconductors, interconnects, capacitors, resistors, and inductors. Additionally, experience in supporting build to print components like printed circuit boards, CNC aluminum chassis, and cable assemblies.

 While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision.
