Job Overview:

Requirement/Must Have:

• 5+ years of Oracle SQL development against transactional databases.
• 5+ years of writing complex SQL (joins, CTEs, subqueries, CASE, aggregate and analytic functions).
• 5+ years of normalized relational database design and table relationships.
• 3+ years of Oracle PL/SQL (procedures, functions, packages, views) - highly desired.
• 3+ years of SQL job scheduling and automated database processes.
• 5+ years of SQL troubleshooting, query optimization, and data validation - highly desired.
• 3+ years of translating business requirements into SQL solutions.
• 3+ years of operational reporting and data analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programs.
• Write simple and complex SQL queries from scratch against normalized Oracle transactional databases.
• Analyze business requirements and determine the appropriate tables, relationships, joins, and business rules needed to answer complex business questions.
• Extract, validate, transform, and analyze operational data for reporting, research, grants, and executive requests.
• Develop and maintain automated SQL processes, scheduled database jobs, and recurring data refreshes.
• Troubleshoot SQL scripts, automated jobs, and data quality issues.
• Create efficient, reusable, and well-documented SQL code.
• Support recurring operational reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), legislative reporting, and research initiatives.
• Collaborate with business users to understand reporting needs and communicate analytical findings.
• Support Tableau dashboards and other data visualization initiatives as needed.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Tableau or other data visualization software.
• Experience in criminal justice or other large transactional database environments.
