Addiction Psychiatrist / Medical Director Opportunity

Location: Danvers, MA

We are seeking an experienced Addiction Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for a comprehensive substance use treatment program in Danvers, Massachusetts.

This opportunity is available 2–3 days per week up to full-time and combines direct patient care with clinical leadership and oversight of advanced practice providers.

The program has a 239-bed capacity providing detoxification and residential treatment services, with an average daily census of approximately 200 patients.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with substance use and co-occurring psychiatric disorders
• Provide psychiatric care within detoxification and residential treatment programs
• Serve in a Medical Director capacity and provide clinical leadership for the program
• Provide clinical oversight and supervision of advanced practice providers
• Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans
• Manage psychiatric medications and monitor patient response to treatment
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, therapists, counselors, and other behavioral health professionals
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning
• Provide clinical consultation and guidance to the treatment team
• Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and clinical program initiatives
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Help ensure services are delivered in accordance with applicable clinical and regulatory standards

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Fellowship training and/or demonstrated experience in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine
• Board certification in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine preferred
• Eligible for a Massachusetts medical license
• Experience treating substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions
• Experience supervising advanced practice providers preferred
• Medical Director or physician leadership experience preferred
• Strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills
