A leading technology consultancy is seeking a Software Engineer to join a growing engineering function delivering secure, scalable services for major public-sector and enterprise programmes. This is a hands-on development role suited to someone with strong Java fundamentals and a desire to build high-quality software in a highly regulated environment.

What youll be doing:

• Designing and developing Java services using JDK 11+ and Spring Boot
• Building modular, maintainable microservices aligned to enterprise and security standards
• Working with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and SonarQube
• Collaborating with cloud and infrastructure teams to deploy into secure cloud environments
• Applying software engineering best practices (TDD/BDD, branching strategy, code quality)
• Contributing to agile ceremonies and working closely with technical leads and testers

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

• 2+ years' experience as a Java Developer (5+ f
• Strong Java (JDK 11+) and Spring Boot development skills
• Exposure to microservices, modern APIs, and cloud-based delivery
• Understanding of secure engineering principles and modern DevOps practices
• Ability to operate in agile, collaborative engineering teams
• Must be SC Clearable (minimum 5 years continuous UK residency)
• Experience with AWS or other public cloud platforms
• Exposure to containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
