Data Engineer

Immediate need for a talented Data Engineer. This is a 06+ Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Richmond, VA(Onsite). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.
Job ID:26-29427 Pay Range: $55 - $60/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and support large-scale, production data pipelines.
• Utilize advanced SQL, ELT patterns, and performance tuning to enhance data processes.
• Work with Oracle Exadata and similar cloud/on-prem data warehouses.
• Implement enterprise ETL/ELT platforms such as Talend, dbt, or Informatica.
• Develop a deep understanding of data warehousing architecture and dimensional modeling.
• Employ strong scripting skills in Python and shell for automation and process improvement.
• Utilize data virtualization tools like Denodo, Composite, dremio, or Starburst.
• Apply DataOps practices, CI/CD, and observability in your workflows.
• Support ETL development and processes, which may require weekend or off-business hours work.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• 5 to 7 years of Data Engineering experience.
• Advanced expertise in SQL, ELT patterns, and performance tuning.
• Strong experience with Oracle Exadata or similar cloud/on-prem data warehouses.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise ETL/ELT platforms (e.g., Talend, dbt, Informatica).
• Deep understanding of data warehousing architecture and dimensional modeling.
• Strong scripting experience (Python, shell).
• Experience with data virtualization tools (e.g., Denodo, Composite, dremio, Starburst).
• Familiarity with DataOps practices, CI/CD, and observability.
